About

Brass tacks;

As the title implies, this is indeed the ‘about’ page.  While I am a private person and generally dread such things I am after-all using this site as my portfolio and introductions are necessary.  My name is Bradley Burt and I am a freelance graphic designer.  In case you were wondering, the ‘Rubik’ in Rubik Design Studios plays off of the Rubik’s Cube but unlike its namesake, my Rubik’s Cube is one colouprofile_picturer, this single colour design symbolizes that I am a design problem solver and no task is too great.

I am passionate about all kinds of design, be it web design, UI interfaces or icon design and while I can certainly create all manner of blindingly awesome corporate type stuff (business cards, letterheads and what have you) I will always have an affinity for freehand illustration as well as retro pixel art.

I am proficient in creating user-friendly interfaces as well as brand identities for private users, small companies or huge corporations and excel at problem-solving.  I generally prefer a clean, minimalist style with an attention to detail but will roll up my sleeves in order to tackle complicated design problems if need be.

As I have finally decided to abandon the tradition portfolio (having to lug around an over-sized folder is tedious) in favour of a stream-lined online variant I will be adding new content on a regular basis rather than scanning in all my old work as I have neither the time nor patience to do so.

From time-to-time you will see this logo (pictured below) on certain posts.  BB Art is a design identity I created for original or freehand work that I submit online.  It is simple, functional and in-keeping with the minimalist design style (sometimes referred to as Swiss Design) I subscribe to.
